For centuries, Chinese embroidery has been synonymous with high quality embroidery; so much so that some people have called it grandiose. But there is no denying that China produces the finest embroidery in the world.

The four major styles of Chinese embroidery are Shu, Su, Xiang, and Yue.  Other notable styles include Gu, Bian, Han, and the ethnic styles of Bai, Bouyei, and Miao. Worth noting is the Thangka style used by Tibetans which captures their passion for religion.
